We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, where they apply.

1. What we collect

Depending on how you contact us, we may collect:

Name
Phone number and email address
Hire start and end dates, event type, and message details
Items you’re enquiring about (cameras, bundles, keepsakes, add-ons)
Pickup, delivery or drop-box preferences
Payment and bond details if we take those for a confirmed booking
Photos or video you choose to share with us after a hire

You don’t have to give us everything on the enquiry form — name is required to reply; other fields are optional. If you skip contact details, we may not be able to complete a booking.

To reply to enquiries and confirm availability

We don’t sell your personal information.

4. Who we share it with

We only share what’s needed to run the hire, for example:

Web3Forms, to deliver enquiry emails
A print lab, if you ask us for a print pack
Delivery partners, if we deliver or collect a kit
Payment providers, if you pay us electronically
Professional advisers or insurers, if required
Authorities, if the law requires it

5. Cookies and the enquiry cart

This site uses your browser’s local storage to remember enquiry cart items on this device so you can continue on another page. That stays on your device until you clear site data or remove the items. We don’t use advertising cookies or sell browsing data.

6. Photos and guest content

Film scans, Polaroid prints and video guestbook recordings from your hire are your memories. We only use images or clips on our website or social media if you clearly agree. Guest photos on cameras or in guestbooks are not collected by us unless you send them to us.

7. Storage and security

We keep enquiry and booking details only as long as needed for the hire, follow-up, and any legal or accounting reasons, then delete or de-identify them where practical. We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no email or website is completely secure.

8. Overseas disclosure

Some tools (including Web3Forms) may process data on servers outside Australia. If that happens, we’ll still take reasonable steps to keep your information protected.

9. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or make a privacy complaint by emailing livis.hires@gmail.com. We’ll respond as soon as we reasonably can. If you’re not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

10. Children

Our hires are aimed at adults booking for events. If you believe we’ve collected information about a child without a parent or guardian’s involvement, please contact us and we’ll delete it where appropriate.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
